Why Yoga?
Most of us spend the day living from the neck up. We spend so much time deep in thought that we forget what it actually feels like to be in our bodies.
Life gets busy, to-do lists are long and there’s never enough time. Before long your shoulders are somewhere near your ears, your jaw has started to clench, and you've been holding your breath without even realising it.
Instead of trying to fix that, yoga instead helps you notice it. It’s a way of acknowledging what your body is trying to tell you and being aware whats going on. We step onto our mats and begin a conversation with ourselves, seeing all the bits as they are - tight, tired, agitated, frustrated. It isn't about becoming a better version of yourself, it’s getting to know the person who's already here.
We'll notice the tightness, but we'll notice the ease too. Because your body isn't just a place where stress lives. It's also where comfort, strength and peace can be found.
Yoga is just a place where we can meet ourselves, acknowledge the tricky parts, luxuriate in the soft parts. Simply, a place where you can move, breathe, and slowly remember you have a body.
So, what is yoga?
Honestly, it’s not anything fancy or complicated.
You don’t need experience, knowledge or special equipment! You certainly don’t need to be flexible. A healthy sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore are all thats essential.
Our classes combine simple, everyday movements - designed to explore the body's natural range of movement - exploring places that feel tight, tired, or a bit stuck, and creating space for relief.
We pair this with breath and body awareness, helping you shift out of overthinking and into a more present, grounded state.
And we always end with a moment of stillness - a chance to pause, reflect, and let the practice land.
Why choose Unravel?
Yoga exists in many forms - from ultra-spiritual meditation to sweaty, high-intensity workouts. All of that has value. But Unravel Yoga sits somewhere a little different.
Life is already full of pressure and expectation. The last thing you need is another space where you feel like you have to perform.
You don't have to leave your worries at the door or pretend you're feeling calm. You don't have to keep up with anyone else either. You’re welcome to arrive with whatever is on your plate that week, move, breathe, and notice what shifts when you’re given a bit of space to simply be with it. No fancy yoga mat or expensive leggings required. I care far more about how you’re actually feeling than how anything looks.
It's my hope that you'll leave having gathered a few more pieces of yourself back together… feeling more at home in your own body than when you arrived.
